Hello!

I’m Chris.

Qualified personal trainer. Performance coach. Drummer.

I come from a background as a musician, playing the drums for anyone who would have me. Right now, I am the drummer for Hamilton in London’s West End.

In January 2023, I sustained two brain injuries that changed my life forever.

As I progressed through my recovery, the way I used to think about training, recovery, and performance was turned on its head (no pun intended). I realised that the success of your craft rests on your “skill” only up to a point, and the rest is down to the health of the systems that underpin it.

Develop these systems, and you’ll raise your baseline, break through plateaus, and become more capable in situations that used to overwhelm you. And, ultimately, you’ll learn that you’re capable of far more than you ever thought.

Performance Conditioning is my attempt to distil everything I’ve learned about performance, training, and recovery, shaped by my brain injuries, 20 years in the music industry, 5 years (and counting) of active research, and multiple qualifications, into a holistic 360º health, wellbeing + performance service.

The world view

The world of entertainment is one of the most overlooked areas of high performance.

To thrive in the entertainment industry, you need stellar nervous system regulation skills.

To override your natural fight/flight instinct against the pressure of world-class expectations, you need the capacity, in every sense, to perform consistently.
